Scheme-op: Sintetistična srečanja
At the workshop, you will build an eccentric multi-channel signal mixer called Scheme-Op, which draws on the history of analogue computing and the experimental sound practice of “no input mixing”, where a mixer and a few cables are all you need to achieve a variety of electronic sounds.
The unique feature of the mixer is its open interface. It allows you to connect open points in the circuit with different electronic components, similar to retro electronics learning kits. By physically manipulating the signal paths, we can create different configurations of operational amplifiers. Op-amps were the basic electronic building blocks used for analogue computing since the 1950s and 1960s.
By experimenting with the mixer, beginners can intuitively learn the basics of electronics and sound synthesis. Experts can develop complex feedback loops and explore the analogue processing of signals and sound.
To participate in the workshop, you only need basic soldering skills.
